Summary/Objective: The Warehouse Driver operates a 26’ foot gas powered box truck over 26,000 pounds gross vehicle weight (GVW), on streets or highways to transport business related materials, merchandise, and equipment. Performing material pick-up from and delivery to, both commercial and residential locations throughout the surrounding counties of company headquarters. Tools and equipment frequently operated in this role include, but are not limited to forklift, pallet jack, and delivery truck lift gates. This role is in a position where public safety is a consistent priority for awareness and ensuring safety precautions are followed. Responsibilities extend to scheduling pick-ups and deliveries with customers and vendors, planning delivery routes and necessary timing to efficiently complete transportation assignments and satisfying our customers. Loading and unloading of materials and equipment is frequently performed, often assisted by a warehouse helper.
Key Functions: + Perform shipping and receiving tasks.
Inspect incoming and outgoing packages / product to ensure accuracy of order.
Plan delivery routes, and load track according to delivery schedule.
Maintain consistent communication with warehouse manager.
Operate delivery truck within the boundaries of the applicable traffic regulations.
Perform a pre-departure vehicle and load inspection, ensure secure and safe conditions are established.
Demonstrate professional communication and customer service when engaging with our suppliers and customers.
Maintain records and driver’s log, along with collecting receipts in a timely manner.
Required Education and Experience: A valid, state issued, and insurable Driver’s License (DL), plus 3-years’ successful experience with: Warehouse functions to include the successful operation of light equipment (forklift, pallet jack, dolly, etc.). Operating a mid-sized transport / delivery truck.
Not required, only preferred: An insurable CDL (Commercial Driver’s License).
