This bred heifer is designed to be a very nice milk cow, with the rich production of a Jersey mixed with the hardiness of a Norwegian Red (also a medium sized dairy breed).
Chya was born on 3-29-24, out of our registered A2A2 Jersey and sired by a registered A2A2 Norwegian Red.
Chya has been handled daily since birth; halters, leads, ties, and stands in a stanchion (head catch) to eat her grain. And she really likes being hand fed range cake.
On 6-6-2025, she was AI bred to a registered A2A2 Normande bull (Tezz) which gives her a due date of early to mid March. She received sexed semen for a heifer calf.
We have cattle that are A2A2 because A2A2 milk can be consumed by people that are lactose intolerant.
The Normande is a dual purpose (dairy and beef) breed that tends to be beefier and hardier than the Jersey.
In addition to the tasty milk, we've had wonderful results when making butter and cheese from the milk of these Jersey cross cattle.
